Meet Dr. Raymond J. Mis

Dr. Raymond J. Mis, DO, FACOI, is a Gastroenterologist with more than three decades of clinical experience specializing in digestive health, colon cancer screening, and complex gastrointestinal conditions. A native of Brooklyn, New York, he earned his Doctor of Osteopathy from the New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed extensive training, including an internal medicine residency at Norwalk Hospital, an internship at St. Michael's Medical Center, and a gastroenterology fellowship at the Genesys Regional Medical Center Flint Osteopathic Campus. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Mis has held numerous leadership roles, including Chief of Gastroenterology and Director of the Colon Cancer Screening Initiative at Kent County Hospital. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine and has delivered keynote lectures across academic, medical, and corporate settings.

Due to infections that affected his eyes and ears several years ago, Dr. Mis has become very nearsighted; however, physicians from Harvard and Yale found that if he simply sits 1-1/2 feet from the video screen, his vision is corrected to 20/25 (just like wearing eyeglasses). He has practiced this way since April of 2022. Since that time, his peers named him one of the top physicians in Rhode Island and his name reappears in the magazine "Best Doctors in America".
